We are filming a short film and in a part we need a 3 second shot of moving forward to convey suprise, I’m not good with professional film terms but basically just the camera moving forward close to the person. I tried this just holding the camera and moving it forward but there was way to much camera shake. Since I am a student I do not have that much money, and want to use this effect without having to spend lots of money, is there someway to build a rail, or maybe some kind of motion stabilizer that will allow this to work
    Thanks In Advance

Rent or borrow a wheel chair and strap your tripod to it.

Practice the move and you’ll be good to go in no time.
