RAID set-up for FCP
Posted by Rj Thomas on February 28, 2007 at 10:58 pmI’m thinking about getting a modest RAID for my system. Does anyone have any recommendations?

February 28, 2007 at 11:09 pmWhat is “modest?” What are you planning on editing?

March 14, 2007 at 6:40 pmShane: Have you heard anything about problems installing the Caldigit Duo on a G5s? I’ve tried two Caldigit machines and the mount and set up fine, but after transfering a large file, the transfer freezes, an error message comes up, and the drive spontaneously disappears. I talked with CalDigit and they don’t know what’s going on so I’m looking elsewhere.
Thanks in advance for any help

March 14, 2007 at 7:49 pmYou what, I have had that issue too. But it isn’t consistent. Try this. Turn on your computer…let it boot all the way. THEN turn on the CalDigit unit. Then try to copy. I figured out the times it choked is when I had it on, then turned on the machine.
