    I have some shots that need to have some screen replacements done and then sent off to color correct. The shots are supplied as r3d (although I could potentially get them in a different format if it would be easier). I am concerned about making sure I am passing on all of the raw file information to color correct. I’ve tried to find a tutorial for this workflow but there doesn’t seem to be much out there. What is the easiest way to do this in AE?

    You can’t pass through the RAW file information because you can’t render out a RAW file because the data it has is created in camera. You could probably use an EXR sequence.

    I realize I won’t be able to render out an r3d file, but I’m looking for best practices in setting up a workflow and rendering out to dpx/exr/cinemadng

    There is no one right way to do this. Talk to your colorist about how they’d like to work.
