I am trying to control the opacity of a group of clones, but also have falloff where the opacity still has the gradation between 0% and 100%.

Right now all I am able to achieve is applying a Plain Effector (with “Visibility” checked on) with a falloff that only turns the opacity of the clones on or off. There’s no inbetween…

Very frustrating. I played with the Remapping within the falloff, as well as the Min/Max within the Effector itself with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Controlling visibility will always be an on or off proposition. As far as I know, in order to control opacity you will need to either work with the transparency channel of a material or its alpha channel. This tutorial may help concerning the latter.
