There is no Quicktime forum here, so I figure FCP is the next best thing. A client is having an issue that I have seen and fixed before: They go to export a video via Quicktime and click the “Options” button in the Export dialog to bring up the Movie Settings dialog. From here, they click the “Settings…” button to bring up the Standard Video Compression Settings, but no window appears. I have fixed this before: The dialog (“Standard Video Compression Settings”) won’t show up because the file associated with it has incorrect/broken permissions. Dragging it to the desktop and dragging it back to it’s folder fixes the problem and makes the window appear again when needed, which probably resulted from a conflict between admin/standard users.

My problem is that I can’t for the life of me remember where this file resides. Does anyone know?

Hey, I see this answer was submitted years ago and never answered, but I am having the exact same problem here and wondered if anyone ever answered you or if you did finally solve the problem.
