  • Quicktime Render Audio Exception Crashes Vegas!

Everytime I try to render video clips out of Vegas 6 as a .mov file, if I click on the custom tab to choose the 3rd party QT codec I need for my ancient yet faithful StrataSphere NLE system, the audio tab gives an exception and shuts the whole program down. (Yes, I’m bouncing video and audio clips between a PC and a Mac-based NLE.) I’ve never had a problem exporting any kind of format out of Vegas. I don’t even want the audio included and tried deleting the audio tracks, but the render engine defaults to a “vaudio” output. I can’t choose to shut the audio off without it crashing. I recently updated to the latest QT and added the Sphere codec .exe. I have no clue why this is happening. I love Vegas’ ability to input any video format and export it with this specialized QT codec, but it’s looking like it might be too good to be true. ..and this 3rd party codec only seems to work with Vegas. I’m unable to get it to even be recognized on Handbrake or other dodgy conversion programs I have. Vegas has always been the most reliable in that department.
Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated!
