I am trying to export Avid Media Composer Sequences to a quicktime reference file, and import that into Adobe Encore to make a DVD. When i try and import as assets into Encore it says it must be 24 or 29.97 frames per second. I checked the movie info and the fps is different for each file. like 29.74 and stuff around there, but all different and seemingly random. Any help?

no luck… when i tried to do that (first of all there was no same as source in the quicktime ref dialog. it did say use dv codec. Since dv is my source i selected that, and it still gave me a weird random frame rate.

i tried to take screen grabs but have been unsuccessful at posting them in here.

Joe, you need to duplicate your final sequence an mixdown all video tracks to one solid video track with NO black (filler) before you export your sequence. It’s a petty annoyance to us Encore users, but try to reference black and you’ll get goofball frame rated.

Video Mixdowns worked. Is this a problem with sync? since i am not set up with a sync generator avid doesn’t know what exact frame rate to make black? I am going to try this at work with my machines that are hooked up to sync gen and see what happens because i’m curious. Thanks for all the help. Now i am in the authoring forum asking questions about a whole new slu of problems.
