  Quicktime proxies displayed in FCP timeline

  Every once in a while, inconsistently, when I import a quicktime movie into final cut that has a proxy wrapped with it as “video track 2”, the proxy video is displayed in the viewer instead of the full res. Then if I close the project and re-open it, the full res video is displayed. Somebody told me this is a “known issue” in FCP… has anybody else seen this and figured out a quick and reliable workaround for it?

  FCP version 7.0.1
  importing XDCamEX 35mb VBR quicktime movies.
