quicktime problem – or something larger??
Hi!
Thanks in advance for anyone who has any insight! I just can’t seem to figure out what has happened here. I’ve captured thousands of hours of footage before no problem…
I’m using FCP 4 HD and I am capturing footage shot in 24p.
Capture settings are:
Capture preset DV NTSC 48kHz
Using DV Video for video input
DCR-TRV900 using NTSC
29.97 frames per second
DV – NTSC at Best quality.
24 bits per pixel
720 by 480
Using DV Audio for audio input
Input: First 2 channels
Rate: 48.000 kHz
Speaker: off
Volume: 100, Gain: 0The Captured Clip Information in the browser says that the frame size is 720 X 480 and the Vid Rate is 29.97.
Now here’s the weird/frustrationg part. When I check out the info on the actual QT clip in the capture scratch it says:
Format: DV, 720X480 (835 X 480)
FPS: 29.96
Normal Size: 853 x 480 pixels
Current Size: 853 x 480 pixels (Actual)I’ve checked out other QT clips that I have captured in other projects and the Normal Size and the Current Size are both 720X480… I have also checked a clip of the same footage that was used in another project…
I wonder if this is just a quicktime problem, and I shouldn’t worry. Everything looks fine in the FCP canvas and viewer and when I view it on a television through FCP.
Thanks again!
