    Hi Everyone,

Thanks in advance for trying to help me out over here.

Whenever I try to upload a Quick Time media file to Vegas 8.0 pro, I get a pop-up window that says that the Sony Quick Time plug in was not able to initialize the QuickTime components on your system………..

I read some posts on this forum about similar problems and the solution was to re-install quick time and use the manual setting but the problem is that when I download the latest version of Quicktime, it does not give me the choice to form a manual installment.
I tried to uninstall and then reinstall Vegas and still have the same problem.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like the problem is with Quicktime and not Vegas. I would try uninstalling Quicktime completely, reboot your computer, then re-install the latest Quicktime and make sure you can play mov files. Then try Vegas again.
