  Quicktime Player X – composition displays lighter

  Hi there,

  First off, while the problem appears to be with Quicktime Player X, I use After Effects to composite, therefore I’m sorry if this is in the wrong section.

  I’ve been plagued by this problem for a while and I hope someone can help me out here.

  I know the subject of gamma shifting has been discussed a lot on here, but I couldn’t find a topic about Quicktime player X brightening compositions.

  I’m having real trouble getting QTP X to display vibrant colours, especially greens.

  I’ve uploaded an image to show how each player compares (VLC, QTP 7, QTP X).

  This is having exported my composition from AE using the animation codec.

  Top left: VLC
  Top right: QTP 7
  Bottom left: Inside after effects
  Bottom right: QTP 10

  

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
