    Hi there,

I’ve followed many tutorials here, but this is my first post as a relative AE newbie.

I’m using CS3 on Vista. I’ve run into an issue, and I’ve simplified it to this.

I create 3 columns in an AE comp – black, grey, white – 0-128-255. I render this out as a quicktime .mov, with PhotoJPEG compression.

When I load this into quicktime, it shows more as 20-128-230. ie, my whites are grey, and everything has lost contrast. I load this file back into AE, and it looks fine. I load it into Photoshop Extended, and it looks ok – pixel details show correct values. Render it back out from PS, and it looks bad again.

I’ve ticked off legacy gamma in the project properties in AE, with no effect.

If I render the .mov in AE with compression of “none”, it looks ok, with “millions of colors” selected, as opposed to the PhotoJpeg option which only gives the compression option of “color”, which I assume is ok.

Any ideas on a different setting in AE somewhere that will fix this? Oh, I already tried gammastripper.exe with no luck.

    Thanks!
