QuickTime MOV AE CC2015 Render Issues
Hello all! I recently installed Win11 on my workstation and set it up. Concerned software versions:
AE CC2015 13.5.0
Apple Software Updater 2.1.3 (I blocked the updates)
Avid Codecs LE 2.7.6
QuickTime 7.79.80 [legacy codecs enabled]
Rendering to .mov files results in various issues. While .mov with h264 codec fails on every storage drive, .mov files with Avid DNx codecs seems to be fine in every drive except one, my preferred media drive, unit letter S:, “disk 02” on the system (I have multiple drives inside the workstation, both HDDs and NVMes; S: is one of two identical Seagate 8TB HDD). Did some troubleshooting to no avail.
The error AE returns is this:
Rendering error while writing to file “S:\…”. Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
Read various thread with this issue code here and other forums but none had a working solution.
This issue never happened and still does’t on Win10; I tried the same operation/troubleshooting with my gaming laptop (Win10) and all the exact same software versions rendering the same files on a WD My Book external drive copy of the “S:” drive, with the letter “S:” assigned, and .mov render works just fine, both h264 and DNx.
Can somebody help?
Do you think it’s a Win11/QuickTime compatibility problem?
Is there a way to update mov codecs other than running the latest (7.79.80) Quicktime version available? Thanks!
