I recently upgraded to Studio 2 & leopard

Quicktime does not export normally anymore!

4 min sequence, it renders out 45 seconds of it. ALWAYS the same series of shots.

set an IN and OUT. Still renders out the SAME shots. like it’s possessed!

    move to a new timeline.

Still not the whole sequence, different sots and just a 39 sec piece this time.

Add IN and OUT and those evil shots came back! (just 39 sec instead of 45).

I’ve done dozens of variables, with similar results.

I’ve read about the 7.4 quicktime issues. IS this one of them?
Should I roll back to earlier version? and if so how?

Anyone know what is going on here?

    Dale,

Did you do a clean install or an update over your existing OS and FCS? If you just did an update its very possible that you are one of those relative few for whom a clean install is essential, because there is no doubt that the issues you are encountering are not common to QT, FCP, or Leopard. I’ve been using all of them since December without issue, of course I did a clean install of everything.

Are you sure your timeline is selected when you export and not the viewer?

Good to hear some voices out there!
Yes, clean install of both Leopard & Studio.
    New, just formatted drives.

Yes i am working from the timeline.

I just did the quicktime 7.4.5 update to see if that helps.
I have little to lose at this point.

From what I have read here in the forum. QT 7.4.1 has been giving many people problems.

I have used FCP export for years. only now that I have moved to Studio 2 has this problem started (that I am aware of)

Alright, Dale. I haven’t heard or seen this problem before.

    Trash your preferences.

Well maybe I am missing something that can be set on a timeline that will override IN and OUT points, or lack there of?

File-export-quicktime movie, choose a codec and where the file is going.

“re-compress & self contained” make no difference to my situation. same outcome.

Not too many other options to choose from!

I also loaded the 7.4.5 update and the Pro ap update.

    Same issue remains.

    Need inspiration or else ……..

Next stop, reformat drive & full install.

[Dale Larsen] “Next stop, reformat drive & full install.

If you have tried trashing prefs, then maybe it’s what you need to do because that is strange stuff you are seeing.
