QuickTIme FCP mac & pc uncompressed
When I export a file from Final cut or quicktime as an Uncompressed on my MAC quicktime sees it as a Uncompressed codec. When I bring to PC however depending on which PC I am on it opens in quicktime as aja or yuv.
I know that PC quicktime doesnt offer uncompressed. I really dont understand the purpose of that? And is there a codec that is equivalent to the mac uncompressed?Also why would my PC open uncompressed files and play them fine but read them as aja/yuv?

QT for Windows do not offer “Apple Uncompress”.
The AJA and BlackMagic Uncompress codecs are free and work in both platforms.
They are basically the same than the Apple Uncompress.[christina rule] “why would my PC open uncompressed files and play them fine but read them as aja/yuv?”
I guess your PC have the AJA codecs installed, thanks to this you are able to open those files in the PC.You my try to export your NONE sequence as ProRess. There is a free Proress reader for PC, so you will be able to open it in your PC.
Make a test setting “Render in RGB”.

Would that cause a slight gama shift on the uncompressed apple/however the PC reads it?

Is very possible.
There are some Gamma issues with those codecs.
When working with Apple Unc, some times is necessary to disable the AJA 10b Unc.
Ask Jeremy Garchow.

You will have to pay for this codec but is the only professional solution.
422-4/444-4,YUV/RGB,8/10bUncompress. Make files half size of Apple Unc.
No gamma or color-shift problems.
