QuickTime Export gives incorrect frame size
Hi.
A client gave me an HD (1080p) project which needed subtitles rendered to an SD sequence for dumping to tape. So I set the timeline – setting to (PAL 16×9 Anamorphic) and instead of getting a 720×576 frame on output from QuickTime export, I get a frame that’s something like 1055 x 576 rather than 1024×576.
If I force FCP to output it as 720×576 PAL 16×9 via QuickTime conversion, no problem, except I have a much larger render time. Plus, I shouldn’t need to. Plus who knows what scaling issues might be occuring from extra interpolation…
Is this a new exciting bug with FCP 7 or the latest QuickTime or Snow Leopard? Has anyone else seen this?
For comparison, I output the project via XML and put into FCP 6.04 – and it worked exactly as I expected it to.
Problem Setup:
ProRes 422(HQ) Media
FCP 7.01
Quicktime 7.6.4
Mac Pro 8 Core 2.26Ghz 12Gb RAM
Snow Leopard 10.6.2Fine Set Up
ProRes 422 (HQ) Media
FCP 6.04
QuickTime 7.6 (473)
Mac Pro 8 Core 2.26Ghz 12Gb RAM
Leopard 10.5.6Anyone seen anything similar? Maybe this has been well documented and I just can’t find it on the forums. Apologies if I’m slow to the conversation.
Thanks for any pointers.
Ben
