Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy quicktime doesn’t stretch 1440×1080 footage in playback

    do a search to find the “aperture” setting of quicktime to get it to play files with proper ratios.

    As long as it plays out fine from fcp there really isn’t a problem.

    thanks for the hint chris. I checked the production setting in quicktime’s movie properties window. But the 1440×1080 video is still displayed in 4×3.
    I know it’s not really a problem because final cut, avid, nuke, ae etc. display it 16×9. But when I show raw footage to people I do it in quicktime. And I know cmd+5 stretches the image a bit in fullscreen mode but the dimensions aren’t exactly right. I like things to be right, and this quicktime problem is like a loose tooth, I can’t stop playing with it till it comes out.
