I have been editing various videos on final cut pro (all shot in HDV), then compressing them successfully (for internet posting) with the Export/ Quicktime Compression feature.

Yesterday I updated my Quicktime software from 6.x to 7.1.3, and my Final Cut Pro from 5.0 to 5.1.2. I also updated various system software that was suggested in “Software Update”. Since then, I’ve been trying to compress a video (using Quicktime Compression) with no success! The video “jerks” a lot, and the audio and video lose synch a lot too. What’s happening? (by the way, I trashed the quicktime and FCP preferences in the Library, but that didn’t help).
    Thanks!

    Try using Compressor’s presets instead…

Quicktime pro 7.x requires a new serial number from Quickime Pro 6.x
