  quicktime codec help

  Hi all,
  When I want the best render at full res (1440 x 1080 )I always use quicktime with “animation” as the codec. I usually can’t find the difference in quality from the original vs rendered. But that’s using After effects Quicktime. When I go into CS4, it doesn’t look good at all. I tried 8 bit, 16 bit, 24bit, Max rendered, but I still get very strange artifacts on the screen. ie: streaky horizontal pixels.

  So my quetion is:
  What would you guys use to render out a clip that will yield the best quality/file size ratio?

  Basically, I want to render out my dynamic link clip, then add it back to the timeline. So I need it to be the same size and quality. 1 1440 x 1080 1.33

  Also,a 2nd question:
  My final output will be to DVD. (720 x 480 widescreen)
  If I am re-rendering my native 1440*1080 1.33 clip, would it be wise to render it out as 1280 x 720 instead of 1440 1.333 or 1920 square??
  Since it’s going to be on a DVD, would 1280 render better or should I stay with 1440?
