  Quicktime choking playing .mov’s but Mplayer doesnt..what gives?

  I’m running the latest OS. on a mac g4 400mhz 1.3 gram Ati Radeon pro. Playing an .mov in quicktime seems to choke..audio plays but video stops and pauses ( on many movies ). Playing the same movies with Mplayer OSX it runs fine. I’ve also noticed this at work on my top notch G5 dual 2.5 gforce6800. This should’nt be…Apple’s own technology should be better considering it was probably authored for Quicktime.
  I don’t get it. Anyone have an answer? This has been the case with previous OSX’s.
