Is there any way to pre-adjust and actually know the final file size when outputting a Quicktime mov? The limit of 10 megs for a file transfer using Comcast is a pain. Example: using Broadband High built in setting a file is 11.2 megs – to big. Broadband Low it is 4.3megs. I’d like to be able to set the quality by file size – say 9 or 9.5 megs to get optimum quality/size.

Also what is the best way to get Windows WMV files out of FCP?

    Thanks so much.

Sure if you look on the web you can find listings of mb per sec then just do the math for example DV is 1Gb per 5 min or so… as to the wmv thing… do you have cleaner? use that if you have it, or go on the web there are a number of wmv component options…

Comcast’s file size limit is for email attachments, not for actual file transfers (true for most all ISPs). If you need to be sending large files for viewing or downloading, using email is about the least efficient and most bandwidth-wasteful method. Set up a dot Mac account or use one of the many services frequently cited in this forum, many of which are free.
