  • Quicktime 7.4.5 problem in Premiere CS3?

It feels like I have an old computer, playing imported AE dynamic link comps in Premiere CS3. When I press stop it has a 2 second delay, or when I press render work area, it takes 10 seconds before it actually starts rendering, let’s say 8 frames.
I have a Mac Pro dual quad 3.0, 10GB ram, production suite CS3.
My comps consist of Nite for Day (generic, nothing like Magic Bullet, taking so much CPU power), CC rain, a fast blur.

I’m having similar problems. It just started yesterday, which is weird, as it was about 1-1/2 weeks after quicktime was upgraded. I’ve opened several projects, all with the same lag in playback.

After Premiere starts, it takes about 10 seconds, and then “photoshopserver” stops responding. This causes the main viewer to have anywhere from a 10 to 60 second lag on updating whenever the cursor is moved.

Playback takes even longer to start.

I need to update my profile, so here’s the new info:

    MacPro 8 core 2.8 GHz (early 2008)
    4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

    OK, nevermind.

I decided to go back in one more time to see what happened.

Upon some moving things around, I discovered that more than one (1) nested timeline in the same parent timeline, will cause this lag. I don’t know why, but as soon as I removed the 2nd nested timeline, it was back to normal.

I will be posting a new thread topic.
