Quicktime 7 encodes PR to mp4… now with green frames?
I think this may have something to do with my recent OS update to 10.7.4…
What’s happening is that a Quicktime Pro 7 conversion of a 720 23.98 ProRes to mp4 now gives me a green start frame, with a green frame every time the QT player is paused.
Playing the same converted mp4 with Streamclip does not show a green frame anywhere at any time.
Why am I still making my mp4 conversions with Quicktime 7?
— I like the ease of use with settings such as framerate: current, specific bit rates, “Auto” keyframes, etc.,
— QT7 has always generated excellent quality mp4s for all the posting I do on Vimeo and YouTube and various clients’ domains. Years of happy work together.I tried Compressor but the resulting mp4 looked BAD, even with the same bitrate I apply for QT7. And in Compressor there is no “Auto” setting for key frames.
I’m playing around with settings on other options to get what I need, but meanwhile does anyone know what happened to QT7 all of a sudden, like, as of this week?
