Quickest Way to Render AVI to MPG2?
Posted by Anotheruser on April 7, 2006 at 6:47 pmI have a 36 min. AVI file in Vegas with very minimal crossfades, etc. I just did a RENDER AS operation and Vegas is telling me that it will take 2 hours and 40 min to render.
Tell me I am doing something wrong and there is a faster way. How is it possible that it could take this long when I have a 3GHZ processor and lightning fast drives?
Say it isn’t so.. please

Something else, of which you are unaware, has been done. You should be getting close to real time. A couple things to check is the track Opacity level is at 100%, the track composite mode is NOT on 3D (should be on Source Alpha). To check for additional things I’d need to see the VEG file.

April 7, 2006 at 8:53 pmI checked what you stated and all is OK.. however.. it looks like Track EQ, Compressor and Noise Gate are active. Would that slow it down this much?

April 8, 2006 at 2:53 amhmm i guess the browser didn’t like that extension. I changed the extension to PSD. You’ll have to change it back to “veg” to open it.
Thanks!

April 8, 2006 at 3:06 amAh! You’re right! The file that caused the loooooong render time was in fact a WMV file I had captured before I got capture working in Vegas.
I think that explains it!
Thank you for your time
