  • Quickest AVCHD to HDV Tape method?

    Hey all-
Trying to get AVCHD footage shot on the Vixia10 to HDV Tape for archive.

We brought in the footage as ProRes and are now facing substantial render times before the real-time layoff to tape..

is there a quicker method somehow?

    best,

I have a Vixia HF-100 as a home camera. Everything I have logged and transfered came in as 1920 x 1080 Pro Res. I do not know how you would get to HDV 1440 x 1080 without some sort of render, though I have not tried. Seems like a lot of math on the fly.

    Regards,
    Ray

Via software and conversions this will be a very, very processor intensive operation every time.

If you’re going to be archiving to tape all that you shoot on AVCHD consider a hardware solution, some way to get your HDMI-C out to your HD SDI in– that way at least it’s a real time transfer camera to camera without tying up a workstation.
