  Quick time movie is locking up FCP 7

  I shot my video using a Sony NEX-VG10
  the file format is Quicktime Codecs AAC, H.264 its only 20 seconds long
  When I try to view the video, in either the viewer or from my time line, I get the rainbow circle as though its processing the video, but it never does. I’ve waited hours. Shut down, restarted, etc.
  What do I need do?
