  Quick RAID Question

  Hi All,

  I previously had asked about RAID solutions and got some very valuable answers. My choice right now is the LaCie 12 TB 4big Quadra. My question at this point is what are the benefits of getting an eSATA card with built in RAID controller vs using the RAID controller in the LaCie drive.

  My plan is to use this as a hybrid edit/storage drive. Not ideal but budget is limited. We would be formatting in RAID 5.

  Any thoughts are appreciated.
