Quick Plugin or filter for Voice changing?
Posted by Josh Evans on July 16, 2009 at 2:26 amHi
I was wondering if there is a quick easy plugin i can buy or download, that i can use on Voice clips in my timeline, to change them i.e. turn a young guy into an old guy, or a kid into a monster. I guess i want presets rather than trying to mess around with all teh built in filters, because im no good at that at all.
Thanks

May 27, 2015 at 6:31 pmRuss, any idea where those factory presets should be stored? For some reason, I don’t have any presets like the above.

May 29, 2015 at 3:19 amUnfortunately Final Cut suffers from the same issue that Logic does, MOST of its plugin arsenal is incredibly old, and it shows in the sound quality. Hopefully, they are working on it. The last major realise of Logic suggests they are.
You could probably get okay results with Vocal Transformer, but if you have money to splash you could try something like UltraPitch. It’s similar to Final Cut’s in many ways, except the pitch altering algorithms are more believable.
Then there is something like iZotope’s Nectar. I believe it might be on sale, but it might also be over complicating things a little.
There are a few press that are created for special effects, but you do really need to get in and design your own. It won’t be that hard though. It’ll do a great “Voices of Satan” kind of effect.
Don’t buy anything full price, though, wait until it comes on sale.

May 29, 2015 at 4:26 pmThanks for the suggestions. I’d just use FCP’s vocal transformer but the factory presets are missing. Will re-install and try again.
Tks.
