Activity Forums Adobe After Effects quick key for mask?

    Select the relevant layer, then double-click on the rectangular (or elliptical) mask tool.

    There’s no way to quickly create any other kind of mask, since AE wouldn’t know what you wanted the mask to look like. 🙂

    G gives you the pen tool and it’s variants

    Q gives you either the Ellipitical Mask or Rectangular Mask Tool (changes on Q)

    V takes you back to the selection tool

    Selecting a layer(s) anf M reveals masks ( I forgot the short cuts for mask feather, mask opacity, etc)

    holding down the ctrl or option key converts the direct selection key to the pen tool while the key is held down. add the alt or option for mac, and you get the convert point tool. that’s what i use all the time.

    MM – keyboard shortcut for mask properties

    TT – mask opacity

    a few others? i think so
