    howdy,

i have 30 hi-rez (c. 3K x 2K) photos that i wanted to to put through one of the Motion templates for an SD slideshow, and wondered if there is any “quick” way in FCP or Motion (i don’t have Photoshop) to downsize them to SD size. the computer is bogging down trying to process all these higher rez shots in a Motion template. thanks!

    thanks again!

Try Automator (in your Applications folder).

I find a lot of that program to be pretty confusing and I haven’t totally figured it out yet. But it DOES have a pre-set action for re-sizing photos.

When it starts, pick the “Photos and Images” workflow setup and start a new action. Find the one that re-sizes photos and mess around with it.

There will probably be some trial-and-error, but I bet you can get it to work.

    Hey Jeff!

It worked fabuloso! (once i did the little tutorial) very cool, exactly what i was looking for. i downscaled my images 30%, but it made an exponential difference in the amount of time saved when creating and rendering the Motion movie and playing back in FCP.

    thanks again.

    thanks again!
