I watched an online tutorial (here on Creative Cow) about how to do motion-masking with After Effects. It was about a 10 minute tutorial, and a lot of the steps were confusing (typical AE!). Before I tried it in AE myself, I decided to try it with Vegas 7.0, using bezier masking. Of course, Vegas made it SO much easier – so simple that a video tutorial would be completely unnecessary.

Anyway, this is just a quick & dirty test I did last night, using one wiener dog to create about a dozen wiener dogs. Now that I know it works, I might try making another version, paying more attention to detail, and perhaps using a few different wiener dog shots, instead of the same one copied-&-pasted over & over.

[Vegas Video Editor Guy] “…so simple that a video tutorial would be completely unnecessary.”

Trust me when I say that a lot of newbies would be very happy if you were to do a brief “How I did it” tutorial.
It would also give us a place to send them to when they had questions about doing bezier masks.

Actually, it would be fun to make a tutorial. I just got a free program that captures on-screen action (Cam Studio), so I’ll put something together and put it on Youtube.

I’d be happy to host the tutorial here.

Josh, thanks for agreeing to do that. I know that I’ll be sending a few folks to it once it’s up.

And thanks to Kathlyn for the offer to host it here.
I’m sure the quality will be better than YouTube.
