I’m working on a clip of stills with a camera. The camera starts with a shot of the whole scene then zooming in a detail and from there moving to other details throughout the plate. I’m not good with camera’s so here’s my question: what will likely give me less distortion/obturation, a wide angle or a narrow angle (15 or 200)? There’s not much time for the camera to travel. Any other things I have to be aware of?

A narrow angle lens (200mm) will give you no distortion of vertical lines and such. But pretty much anything beyond 35-50mm should be okay. Anything wider than that and you will start to get minor ‘fisheye’ distortion.
