I have an audio file that I am adding into my project and it is requiring rendering before it will play back. Once I render the file, it sounds a bit off…as in a little bit of popping and distortion. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Go out of Final Cut and find the file itself. Open it up in Quicktime Pro and re-save it with settings that match your project and sequence. Then re-import that new file and just use that.

It sounds like its an mp3 file…. if so, you need to convert it with Quicktime or iTunes first. Either way, you’ll need it to match your sequence settings.
