I just got done watching the mylenium video tutorial for using sound effector to create motion and all kinds of really useful and cool effects. After toying with it for awhile i’m running into a few snags. (it doesn’t really help that i have r11)

Anyway i am essentially using a text spline. i have the coordinates set up so it’s level with the plane. That way the objects or cubes are set right on the plane. so here are my questions:

    1. Mylenium talks about converting a cube or an object into a polygon. How is this accomplished?

    2. I can not get my object which has the cloner effect on it to apply to all the letters that i’m using to spline to. How can i achieve this result?

    3. I can not get sound to play. I’m not sure if it’s that you have to adjust the frames to match the audio precisely or not? ( I wish that Mylenium would have let you hear the sample of the audio after completing his final render in adobe audition.)

    4. Can someone possible show me how to accomplish this effect with a video tutorial while walking through all the necessary steps… I’m not as advanced in cinema 4d as some of the viewers of that tutorial and i feel some of the steps were mentioned but not really explained. (sorry if that sounds lazy or dumb lol)

Thanks in advance this forum is really a great resource and has taught me a lot already … I hope someday i can be more useful with questions and tutorials!

    1) Make Editable in the Functions menu or in the contextual menus if you right-click on the object in the editing window or theOM, Make Object Editable in the toolbar on the left or with the object selected hit the ‘C’ key.

    2) if you are following his tutorial the spline effector should have Segment Mode (in the Effector tab) be set to Even Spacing or Random because a text spline is a multisegment spline unlike his example circle

    3) if you have Scrub Sound in the Sound Effector checked off then you just need to enable Play Sound in the Animation menu

    Brian,

I have the scrub sound control marked off and have the sound enabled but still don’t get any sound?

Thanks for the advice about the other parts it’s looking much better.

maybe the sound format, C4D takes AIFF or WAV uncompressed at 11, 22 or 44khz so you may need to translate your sound to that
