Questions About Zaxcom TRXLA2 and RX200
I’ve been using Sennheiser ENG microphones for years, specifically the G2 and G3 models. But I decided to switch to Zaxcom for a number of reasons. I purchased a TRXLA2 and RX200 and I have to admit my ignorance, because I’m not sure what a good lapel microphone to go with it would be. I’d like something with similar quality to the Sennheiser ME 2 mic, but apparently it needs a 3 Pin Lemo connector (which I’d never heard of before). So I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on a good lapel mic to go with this unit.
Also, the RX200 has a TA5M audio out port and I need to convert it to XLR or 1/4″ to go into my Tascam recorder. Is there a specific adapter out there that someone would recommend? Again, I’m not familiar with the TA5M connector. I understand it can send either analog audio or AES audio (which I’ve never worked with before). Several of the converters I’ve seen are TA5M female to 2 XLR connectors. Not sure why that would be needed since it’s just a mono signal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
