I’ve set up a virtual cluster on my G5 before and it worked. Now I’ve tried to do the same thing on my Mac Pro 5.1 with the latest FCS and the cluster just says ‘waiting’ when I submit a file to be compressed.

When I select This Computer however it goes to work…

I have Quickcluster with services checked.

I checked Share rendering and Compressor

I have not checked Managed. Could that be it?

But somehow I can’t check it; I can’t change anything on the Basic setup tab for that matter because everything is greyed out. No lock.

How can you reset everything for Qmaster?

(extra question: At the top of the window it says Apple Qmaster (32bit) That implies that there is a 64bit version?)

    To reset Qmaster/Compressor try
Compressor Repair from digitalrebellion (google for it its the first non-advert that pops up)

Qmaster only has a 32-bit version currently, and the FCS 3 qmaster preference pane has a button on the bottom to reset services.

You have to press the stop sharing button first in order to make any changes to sharing/managed settings in the qmaster preference pane. You don’t need to check managed to get a quick cluster to work and rendering is for shake, not fcp motion or compressor so I don’t check it, however should not a difference.
