I recently bought a camera that shoots 1080i HD – I’ve used FCP 5.1.4 forever – and my HD footage captured fine with the 1080i60 set up – but it doesn’t edit right – it’s real jittery – Is this because my FCP doesn’t support HD? I guess I always though that version 5 was HD… Why did it capture it then? So, in search of a new FCP to get – what version should I get, or can I just upgrade to HD?

Your version supports many HD formats without problem. More likely your computer, processor, RAM, and/or drives do not support it properly.

    All the best,

What camera, camera settings, and Easy setup did you use? Where is your footage stored, external or System Drive? If it’s external how is it connected? What are you r system specs? With a little more info perhaps we can give you a better diagnosis.

Define “jittery”. Interlace jittery? Dropped frames jittery? Shaky cam jittery?

Perhaps it’s “too much coffee” jittery
