  • Question: System settings/Record Mode JVC GY-HM100U

Posted by Niya Shah on May 10, 2011 at 12:11 am

Would love your input – what is the best System settings & Record Mode for JVC GY-HM100U?

The project is a short documentary that will be screened in house as well as streamed online.

System – 1080-60/30 or 720-60/30 or something entirely different?
    Rec Mode -1920/60i(HQ)?

Also, what are the best correlating settings for ingest into FCP 7?

Any tips or tricks would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thank you!
    Niya

    Hi Niya

What will your output for delivery be ? If it’s general SD DVD just shoot it in 720 p 60

If the client would like to do full HD delivery then go 1920 x 1080.

    But both are good

I have a similar question. Our client wants full HD, but I am not sure which framerate is better 108060i(HQ) or 1080/30p(HQ) The shoot is a Blues show at a local lounge where the lighting is somewhat low, (working on that with a lighting designer) Most bands are pretty static, not a lot of jumping around or moving objects on the stage. Down the road this show will also be streamed to the web.
