  • question regarding intermediate codecs and what matches up with what?

I’m doing some cloning work in AE, meaning the same person plays 2 people and are in the same shot. I use some masks and do other things such as curves coorrection and color correction, but other than that there are no graphics or anything. I know that the animation codec is a good one to go from AE to fcp, but this file size is far too large. What other codecs would achieve the same level of quality as the animation codec (because i get a feeling that animation is not needed for such a simple masking and color correction)? (the footage is progressive dv, 16×9)

    Alex,

I go to FCP regularly and find Photo-JPEG has worked best. Highest settings.

You should be able to set your FCP settings to read the codec without rendering in the TL.

    Hope this helps.

    Best,

NEVERMIND! I accidentally went to jpeg sequence rather than photo jpeg.
