Activity Forums Boris FX Particle Illusion Question on video “position”

  • Question on video “position”

I’m evaluating the PI SE version and created a simple “ring of fire” with the stage set to 1024×768. When I save an AVI, for example, the rendered video appears in the lower left corner of the screen at a size of around 320 pixels. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Lin

Try the “run with software rendering option” in the Start menu particleIllusion menu. If that fixes it, you need to update your video drivers.

Is the stage window large enough to show the entire 1024 x 768 stage at 100% zoom? particleIllusion SE is WYSIWYG — if the stage window doesn’t show the whole stage, you won’t get the whole stage.

    Alan.

    Thanks Alan,

It seems it was my choice of Codec – I tried several and ended up with Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 which put the action in the center of the screen. I read the part in the user’s manual about needing a little space in excess of the 1024×768 and since my screen resolution was set to that, I made the video at 800×600 and it worked out well. Very nice program….

    Thanks again,

    Lin
