Activity Forums Compression Techniques Question on PID’s

  • Question on PID’s

I have a question on PID’s. I am producing some program streams and using Compressor to get the MPEG2+M2A muxed file. Does it matter that when I check the files in MPEG Streamclip that the PID is different than say taking some DVD content and looking at that in Streamclip?
Thanks, I know it’s a bit technical, but just hoping someone can give an answer.

PIDs mainly matter if you’re making a transport stream for distribution, like with ATSC or CableLabs VOD spec.

Carbon will let you specify your PID while encoding.
