hi…i have a quicktime move 720×576 which i imported into AE…once in AE, the image becomes jaggered at the edges…it is very slight but when its an image shot on chroma for keying and i can notice it…when i say jaggered at the edge i mean the digonal lines on the picture itself is jaggered…sort of like a staircase effect…like i said its slight but the original image on my desktop is sharp…can anyone help me on this problem?…is it my project or comp setting that i should look out for and if it is, what is it and why?…many thanks…cheers…merv

have you interpreted the footage correctly? right click on the clip in the project window and go to interpret footage … then you need to select the field order …upper or lower …

also, you may have ‘pixel aspect ratio correction’ switched on … this is an option to let you preview widescreen footage at the correct aspect. Have a look in the help file if you’re not sure what this is.

let us know if this helps … good luck

If your footage was shot interlaced and you want to key it (or move it, or scale it, or anything else that will change the position of the fields) then you definitely don’t want to use ‘none.’ You should use the setting that matches the source footage. If your source is progressive then you are correct in choosing ‘none.’
