  • Question creating pulsing Light (Scene file + Pictures)

I’m literally one step away from solving this problem (i think). I have a spot light, and the idea is, when this spotlight turns on, it’s so powerful that the light beam is pulsating. So I created a light beam, then created a spline at the bottom the the light beam for the “pulsating” torus’ to move up it. Added the torus into a cloner, set it to Object, used the spline I created as the object and applied a step effector since the beam starts small and gets bigger as it gets closer to the end.

I have the look and everything in order. I just can’t figure out how to animate it so the torus moves and scales up the beam 1 at a time (so I can create a pulsating look). I can move the torus up by offsetting the value in the cloner object, but that doesn’t scale.

Added scene file and a couple pictures.

    Thank you

use a Plain effector for scale instead, align it to the searchlight spline and set Falloff to be linear – chose the right direction- make the falloff be the length of the beam and set falloff to 100. Now when you use the Offset it will scale
