  • question about using blur filters

    Hi everyone!

I’m concerned about what is happening to the edge of my frame when I apply blur to my footage. The more I blur it the more area it makes transparent around the edges. Isn’t there a way for it not to go transparent and just somehow fill it in?

I’m using AE-CS3 on a quad windows system with 4gigs of ram.
    mostly using the directional blur

    thanks!

Hi, you could try using box blur with 2 iterations and check on the repeat edge pixels property.
    Hope this helps

Regardless of which blur type you use, tick off the “repeat edge pixels” option.

As a side note, for general purpose use Fast Blur is the way to go. It is the exact same underlying code as Gaussian Blur, but with a substantial performance boost.

that is kind of my question, where is the tick for repeat edge pixels? I can’t seem to find it.
