Question about Titler in Premiere Pro 2.0 – how to create white text on black background
Hello, can anyone tell me if this is possible? I’ve been playing around with the Titler and so far can only create white lettering, but it would be grand if I could create white letters on a background that is all black, so as to create realistic-looking subtitles for my movies.
Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you.

Here’s how you do it.
Now, type in some text. Then…
Check the background box.

Richard much obliged for your reply. Sadly, in my 2.0 version, which I should have mentioned is for Windows, there is no ‘background’ box. There is indeed a ‘Shadow’ box, but it’s the last option available in the ‘Title Properties’ palette.
I have to conclude that this is simply not possible, given the options that I seem to have at my disposal.

If you haven’t got the background option try to add an exterior black stroke, that could do a cool work too, many movie subtitles come this way, white letter with black borders.

Then add a color matte, if that is an option. Click the “new” button in the bottom of the project pane and choose “color matte.”
