November 11, 2018 at 2:35 pmYou’re talking the difference between sound effects and dialog or ambience?
No. as long as the mics are good and you’re recordings are good.

November 11, 2018 at 6:11 pmYeah, like I feel the dialogue and sound effects and ambience will all sound different and recorded by different mics.
It’s like you record an actor in front of a green screen with one camera, but then record the background behind them, with another camera, both cameras are going to produce different looking pictures, which is why you want to use the same camera. It’s really tough to match that, and audio seems the same way that it’s tough to match.
The last short film I did, when I got it back from the post production sound mixer, he wanted to use different mics to record some of the post production sound effects, and you can tell that it doesn’t sound like the same mic. So I figure audio is just as difficult to match as video, or is it not?

November 11, 2018 at 10:07 pmI would have to hear examples of “not the same mic.”
I just don’t believe it makes a difference in this context.
