question about hardrive usage..
This is a very basic question but it just came up.
If I’ve got a folder full of files on my hardrive in my computer…I then point a vegas project to ‘import’ those files…is it true that Vegas simply uses those original files on the hardrive to do the editing? ..it does not make yet more copies of those file…i.e. duplicates? i.e…using up more space on the hardrive?
I ask…because with AVID when you ‘import’ Avid actually creates ‘media’ to another folder…..
I’m asking because i just imported some material and I could swear i just lost 20gb of space….so just double checking…

Unlike Avid, Vegas does not make copies. It edits the footage natively.
