Question about Final Cut Pro
Hi, I have a question. I’m starting a pretty big project (relative to my experience) and wanted to know an easy way to log footage. I received two 1-terabyte harddrives of a concert in which 20 cameras were utilized. The footage (shot on a DVCPro HD) has already been captured and the harddrive consists of Quicktime files about 2 hours long of the concert. The Director wants me to log the footage in bins broken up by the songs.
Now here’s my question: Since the footage was captured in 2 hour chunks as opposed to captured in clips, is there a way to break apart the clips in Final Cut Pro? Or should I just edit the clips in Quicktime and save them as different Quicktime files, then import them in Final Cut. The latter seems the most logical to me, but I’m not sure if there’s an easier way to keep everything in Final Cut. Thanks and sorry for the long-winded question, just want to make sure I explained everything!
