    hey guys,quick question.
been out of the editing scene for almost 4 years so im quite rusty.now working with vegas 16,
and i have a question regarding cropping.i got a video that is 4:3 however it was captured in 16:9.
the source material is still 4:3 and there is black borders at the edge.im trying to crop the black borders out and make the 4:3 footage act as if it were native 4:3.
because now, when i add the border, vegas still treats the footage as if it were 16:9 and puts the border on the edge of where the 16:9 footage used to be.
i want to do something that would make vegas treat the cropped footage as if thats the original format it was imported in.
i could achieve this by exporting and rendering the cropped video but…im sure there must be a better, much simpler solution

    thank you in advance

Try setting up your project in a 4:3 aspect ratio then put the video on the timeline, open it in pan crop, right click and select match output aspect.
