  Quality shift when Importing Quicktime Reference from FCP

  Hey all,
  I figured out a codec to use to export from FCP that would preserve the original video quality (JPEG). I’ve exported my footage as a reference from FCP and am trying to import it into After Effects. The problem, however is this:

  Whenever I import my FCP reference into After Effects, there is a noticeable drop in quality. What I mean is that if I were to play the reference independently in the quicktime player, the video’s quality is identical to that of my shot footage. Once I import it into After Effects however, the reference’s quality becomes grainier and lighter. I exported the AE footage as a quicktime video using the identical settings from FCP, and the video is as grainy as it was in After Effects. How can I export my reference file from FCP into After Effects while preserving the original video quality?

  If necessary, I shot my footage as follows:
  -Canon XH-A1
  -Standard Definition DV
  -Wide Screen
  -Exported as a quicktime reference from FCP using the JPEG codec at best quality.
